CHS classmates
Which seemed longer? The 4 years at CHS or the 40 years since graduation? When notified of our impending high school reunion, the experiences I shared with CHS classmates have become a substantial part of my daily thoughts. I often remember classmates as the people we knew in high school. For instance, Tom B's profile has an Alaska picture; which handsome guy looks the most like Tom of 1969? Is Tom the guy on the left or on the right with the blue wool hat? As for me, I made a decision 33 years ago to marry Maggie, not necessarily for the right reasons but fortunately for me, it turned out to be the best life choice I've made so far. Those who know me best will understand how instrumental I have been in helping Maggie develop her counseling skills with abnormal personalities and behaviors (Maggie is a psychotherapist). We have 2 sons, one 30 and the other 28 years of age. They are active members of the "boomerang generation". My desire to be a grandparent remains intense, but not strong enough to overwhelm either of my son's wishes. I am entering into my 31st years as a chiropractor in Beaverton (www.greenwaychiropractic.com). I hope to continue working my passion for at least another 10 years. Based upon our CHS classmates' life profiles, it appears that I am lagging behind in the vacation/traveling area. Outdoor activities such as snow skiing, water skiing, wakeboarding, hiking, and mountain biking are on my list of diminishing recreational activities. We are expanding our time spent on the Willamette River; bird watching for bald eagles, blue heron, cranes, and hawks which are commonly seen along the river's arm near Newberg and Dundee. I look forward to updating and developing my impressions of my childhood classmates from Harmony, Dale Ickes, and Clackamas High Schools at our reunion. |
