I’ve been involved in ministry/missions for over 30 years. I began my calling in
1978 as a reporter/correspondent with Campus Crusade for Christ. My job took me to some pretty unlikely places for a boy from Milwaukie. One of the most absurd spots was Beirut, Lebanon, where I lived and worked in 1982/83, in the midst of the most violent anti-American episodes during the civil war there. I was later based in Germany and the world became my beat. (Herr Otto Blummel wurde sich erfreuen uber mich!) After traveling the globe and annoying a lot of nice ladies along the way, I finally found the girl of my dreams, safely kept for the likes of me where my journey began, in Portland, Oregon. Linda and I have been married for 23 years and we have four terrific kids, ages 16, 14, 11 and eight. I built a house in Warren (near Scappoose) about 12 years ago. I’ve since served as a country pastor and have also directed a citywide men’s ministry in Portland. I take yearly excursions to Eastern Russia
to teach and encourage Christians there, and I now help people to write their own stories in order to recognize God’s signature on their lives. I look forward to seeing you all at the big bash.
