1969 to 2009 – 40 Years--WOW! “What a Long Strange Trip This Has Been” Pictures taken at the Gorge Amphitheatre, Quincy, WA, May 16, 2009; At our last reunion (40-year birthday party) I was single and living in Sherwood, OR, where I lived for over 25 years. In 2002 I got married and shortly thereafter moved to Lincoln City, Oregon. That quiet life lasted about a year and we moved to Washington DC (Alexandria, VA). We lived there for several years. I liked the experience, but being the west coast girl that I am, couldn’t wait to move closer west. The opportunity came, and we moved to Las Vegas, NV. I still live there and I like the desert life. We had a house built on the Long Beach Peninsula about a year ago, so now I can enjoy the best of both worlds. These pictures were taken on my way from Las Vegas to Ocean Park, WA, where I’ll be for the summer. It’s strange how much I missed the green trees and how much I took fore- granted the beauty of the northwest. But now, when I’ve had enough of the rain I can leave. I do see fellow Clackamas alumni: Joyce Tate (Clinton) lives only 15 minutes from me in Las Vegas; Julie Spencer (Oakden) lives in Pacific City, OR, and I would see her when I lived in Lincoln City, but now she comes to Las Vegas quite often, and we always try to get together; and I also see others at gatherings like the annual Rod Run in Ocean Park, WA. We host a big barbeque every year during the Rod Run, and last year it looked like a mini high-school reunion. Maybe I’ll see you there! I am definitely looking forward to the reunion in August! |
