We called ourselves Nevadans for 31 years, but we are back to our Oregon roots, retired and living in Sisters, OR. It is great to be home. Riley and I are celebrating our 37th anniversary with a pack trip in the Wallowa Mountains this month. I am learning to fly fish and the nice one in the photo was caught on the Blackfoot in Montana. Our son just recieved a masters in forestry management at U of MT, following in Grandpa Bob Larson's footsteps; you see proud mamma in the second photo. He and Heidi blessed us with Addison, our first grandchild, last September. Our daughter Shauna, 26, graduated from U of Oregon in 2006 and is living in Southern Oregon.
After a number of years as a trainer/facilitator for a bank and non-profits, I went back to school for an MA in Speech Communication and was an adjunct instructor at the University of Nevada before becoming Director of Development for the School of Journalism. Currently I love mentoring young mothers through our church and helping high school juniors and seniors choose post-secondary schools and careers through the ASPIRE program.
Our extended family is celebrating Dad's 87th on Reunion Weekend. I truly regret I won't have the privilege of renewing our friendships, but now know where I can connect with many of you in the future...thanks to our wonderful committee! |
