After graduate school at Stanford, I started a career in hi-tech and spent most of my time in Silicon Valley including ten great years at Apple. About twenty years ago, my wife and I moved to Austin where I helped start the portable computer business for Dell. Austin has been a great place to raise our two boys and the music isn't bad either. About ten years ago I retired, built a sailboat and started cruising. Although the rest of my family only lasted a couple months, my youngest, Alden hung in there with me and we have visited over 30 countries. Last summer we sailed to Alaska and then down the coast and through the Panama Canal. Alden is starting Lewis & Clark College in the fall and as I walked around the campus in April, I realized that the last time I was there was 1968 with the Clackamas High speech squad. The boat is going up for sale this summer and I am starting a consulting practice to keep busy. One of my first projects was writing a book about hi-tech which I hope to have published before the reunion. Looking forward to seeing everyone this summer especially my friend Mike. Below, picture of my son, Alden, and myself in front of the Mendenal Glacier in Alaska. |
